Callahan Construction Managers is breaking new ground with Jones Street Investment Partners on this transformative 236-unit, six-story mixed-use development in the heart of South Boston. Spanning approximately 226,000 gross square feet, the project delivers 236 thoughtfully designed apartments (including 36 income-restricted units), activated ground-floor retail and community spaces, and a new publicly accessible park at the corner of West First Street and West Second Street. Rising on the former Shaughnessy crane yard, the building converts an industrial site into a vibrant residential hub with extensive streetscape improvements, dozens of new trees, enhanced pedestrian safety, and on-site bike share docking. With resident amenities, garage parking, and direct proximity to the BCEC and Broadway, 295 West First brings a dynamic new neighborhood anchor to one of Boston’s fastest-evolving districts. Expected completion Q2 of 2027. This is Callahan’s second deal with Jones Street, coming on the heels of the successful completion of 75 Canal Street in Manchester, NH.
