Callahan, Inc., a full service construction firm which specializes in preconstruction and construction management services, was recently honored by Preservation Massachusetts for its excellence in construction planning on historic sites. The award was presented at the 27th annual Paul E. Tsongas Awards at The Fairmont Copley Plaza in Boston on May 7th.
The Tsongas Awards are held each May by Preservation Massachusetts, a statewide non-profit historic preservation organization dedicated to preserving the Commonwealth’s heritage. The awards recognize individuals and organizations that have helped preserve the state’s history. This year’s event was themed “Lights, Camera, Action!” and focused on contractors, architects and engineers who design and restore historic buildings.
Callahan, Inc. has restored a number of buildings in Massachusetts including the Hamel Mill Lofts in Haverhill, Lynn Artists Lofts in Lynn, Chestnut Green in Foxboro, The Brown School Residences in Peabody, and many others. These adaptive reuse projects involved historic exterior and interior restoration to maintain the look of the original buildings.
“On behalf of Callahan, Inc., it is a great privilege to have received this 2014 Tsongas Award,” said Patrick Callahan, President of Callahan, Inc. “Over the years we have dedicated countless hours to preservation projects and are thrilled to have our hard work and commitment recognized by such a prestigious organization.”
