Renovations Complete at McLean SouthEast

McLean SouthEast recently completed a number of renovations to the new location for their existing psychiatric healthcare facility. The renovations were completed in order to relocate their facility from Brockton, MA to Middleborough, MA.

Callahan, Inc. began working on the preconstruction for the project in the spring of 2013 and was selected as the project contractor in September 2013. The building was granted occupancy in January 2014.

Renovations of approximately 42,900 square feet were made to an Adult Inpatient Unit, Adolescent Residential Unit, Day Unit and Administrative Office Area. The facility is zoned for 52 psychiatric beds and features anti-ligature and tamper proof components to protect patients. In addition, a number of specialty products were required including specific hardware, toilet accessories, plumbing fixtures, and mechanical and electrical systems.

“The project had an extremely aggressive timeline,” said Jessica Anthony, Project Manager at Callahan, Inc. “The scope of work expanded throughout the phases of the project and we were happy to accommodate those changes, make recommendations, adapt our services and complete the project on time.”

The facility is owned by Wingate Healthcare and leased by McLean Hospital. McLean Hospital has regional satellite facilities from their main hospital in Belmont, MA. McLean is the largest psychiatric affiliate of Harvard Medical School.
